Why does rain fall is the title of the new album that Lars Jansson and Erik Söderlind will present at their performance in Linköping on 12 August.

Over the years, pianist Lars Jansson and guitarist Erik Söderlind have developed an intuitive rapport and a shared melodic language, with various “musical moments” now culminating in thirteen original compositions that form a cohesive whole. Those who have followed both Lars Jansson and Erik Söderlind over the years will also recognise that Lars Jansson has, to some extent, taken over the mentoring role that the legendary Kjell Öhman previously held for Erik Söderlind. Meanwhile, in recent years, Erik Söderlind himself has become both a mentor and a role model for many young jazz musicians. This also seems to have brought a more mature and reflective tone to his already highly acclaimed guitar playing.

Erik Söderlind & Lars Jansson Quartet features Paul Svanberg on drums and Olli Rantala (replacing Niklas Fernqvist) on bass.
