Jembaa Groove

One of Europe’s most talked-about Afro-Jazz acts right now comes to Nefertiti. Jembaa Groove kick off their 2026 tour with new material and an updated line-up – weaving Highlife, jazz and afrobeats into a warm, rhythmic and deeply organic sound.

With roots in Berlin and strong ties to Lagos’s growing afro-fusion scene, the band continue to push the boundaries of what modern jazz can be.

Following sold-out concerts across Europe, their first US tour and acclaimed performances at festivals such as Lowlands and XJAZZ, Jembaa Groove now enter a new phase – collaborating with The Cavemen, Fatoumata Diawara, Tim Lyre and Azekel, among others.

In 2026, they will also be joined by acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Kwame Yeboah (Stevie Wonder, Pat Thomas and others) – an addition that takes the band’s already explosive live show to the next level.

“A beautiful blend of Highlife and Jazz“ – KEXP “Everyone is playing them!” – Gilles Peterson, BBC6 “Truly a global phenomenon” – Songlines

This is music that moves forwards – yet always remains rooted in something deeply human.
