Johan Blohm Band
Rock'n'roll and country. It is no exaggeration to say that JOHAN BLOHM has established himself as Sweden's Jerry Lee Lewis with little competition, at least for anyone who loves the classic 1960s and 1970s country style of "The Killers".
Music was with him from the cradle, which rocked to the beat of his dad's rock'n'roll and country favourites: Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Charlie Rich and so on.
Playing the piano followed shortly afterwards.
When Johan was seven, the family received an old piano from a relative.
A few minutes later, he had picked out "Green Green Grass Of Home" with his right hand — and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since then, he has blended rock'n'roll, country and boogie-woogie into a personal musical style, which he plays with a playful touch and an almost effortless swing.
Johan is as rock'n'roll as you can get growing up in Sweden in the early 1970s.
He has played with music legends such as D.J Fontana, Sleepy La Beef, Ray Sharpe, Al Ferrier and Stan Kessler.
He has partied with Jerry Lee Lewis (and lived to tell the tale).
He has shown an impressed James Burton his trademark boogie runs.
And back home in the garage are both a Ford Thunderbird and a Pontiac Trans Am.
In short, JB has a "rock'n'roll heart".
Quite simply, the right stuff.
His style is a delightful blend of all the music he has loved and been influenced by over the years — Gram Parsons, Merle Haggard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Hank Williams, Amos Milburn, Albert Ammons and many more.
Country with a rock feel, or vice versa.
The polar opposite of the modern country that Tom Petty once described as "bad rock with a fiddle".
