When the history of Svart Ridå is one day written, 2026 will stand out as the year the band played its way to an ever-growing audience. Hundreds of miles on tour, city by city and listener by listener – culminating in a classic performance at Way Out West in Gothenburg. Euphoric concerts. Uncompromising, explosive and enchanting.

Now, while awaiting their third studio album – the follow-up to the critically acclaimed breakthrough Aponia from 2025 – Svart Ridå are releasing the single “Gränsen till undergång” on 9 October via Playground Music. Here, the band sound rougher and harder than ever before, without losing any of what has become their hallmark: explosive, immediate choruses that hit home straight away.

The single’s release will also be accompanied by the announcement of an 18-date tour through Sweden, Denmark and Norway, opening in Huskvarna on 29 January 2027. Tickets go on sale Friday 9 October at 10:00 via Luger.se.

“We wrote ‘Gränsen till undergång’ out of frustration with the state of our world today. The privileged person is so good at caring about themselves and their own little problems, but forgets that there are people who have next to nothing, no security to rely on. People are living through war and ruin, are not accepted for who they are, and here at home we pretend nothing is happening; we carry on living in the Swedish idyll, which really isn’t all that bright when you think about it. ‘Gränsen till undergång’ shows the nature of the selfish human being. It’s a song that wants to wake us up somehow from the denial we’re in and make us think. The world is on the brink of destruction if we carry on like this – there’s no closing our eyes to it.”

Since their debut in 2022, Svart Ridå have released two studio albums and quickly established themselves as one of the most interesting and genre-defining bands in the new wave of Swedish indie rock. Recent years have brought, among other things, a hat-trick of GAFFA awards, a scene-stealing TV debut on Musikhjälpen, an interpretation of kent’s “Om du var här” in Spotify’s “Singles” series, and two nominations for the Manifestgalan.
