On 4 September, Genom Natten release their new single “Himmel helvete” – a song about being thrown between anxiety and ecstasy in a destructive relationship. To coincide with the release, the duo announce their plans for the Nordic live scene with a winter tour of Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

Since their debut single “I ett annat liv”, released in February 2025, Alessandra Günthardt and Joel Sjöö, together known as Genom Natten, have established themselves as one of the interesting names on the Scandinavian indie scene. With a sound where Swedish melancholy meets shimmering dream pop, the duo have carved out their own space between sweeping melodies, darkness, light and lyrics that stay with the listener.

On 4 September, Genom Natten release “Himmel helvete” – the band’s most energetic single to date. The song is about being in a toxic relationship where emotions constantly swing between anxiety and ecstasy. The emotional rollercoaster is reflected in the production, where foreboding verses drive towards a euphoric pop chorus.

– Himmel helvete was written very quickly. We’ve both been in relationships where you feel terrible but at the same time feel more alive than ever; there’s something so addictive about it. We wanted to capture that contrast by portraying dark emotions in an uplifting song, the duo explain.

Over the past year, Genom Natten have attracted increasing attention from both audiences and music editors across the Nordic region. The duo’s music has been in rotation on P3 in Sweden and Norway, while their spring single “För nära solen” has continued to receive radio airplay, including support from NRK and Yle X3M. Genom Natten are now following up on this Nordic response with a winter tour that begins at Nalen in Stockholm and continues to Copenhagen and Oslo, among other cities.
