28 September 2027

Ages 18+

The Mission formed in Leeds, England, in 1986, after Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams left The Sisters of Mercy. Together with guitarist Simon Hinkler and drummer Mick Brown, the band quickly developed a distinctive sound within post-punk and gothic rock. With atmospheric guitar work, evocative vocals and lyrics exploring love, loss and existential questions, The Mission reached a wide audience and built a devoted fanbase. The band had no fewer than 13 UK Top 40 singles, including classics such as “Wasteland” and “Tower of Strength”. Albums such as “God’s Own Medicine” and “Carved in Sand” have together sold more than five million copies worldwide.

Over the following decades, The Mission were highly productive and continued to develop their sound. At the same time, the band’s history was marked by internal conflicts, which eventually led to a temporary split in 1996. The band reunited in the new millennium and have since completed several successful tours and continued to release new music. With their strong legacy and significance to gothic rock and alternative rock, The Mission remain an influential name on the music scene after nearly four decades of making music.

The Mission currently consist of Wayne Hussey (guitar and vocals), Craig Adams (bass), Simon Hinkler (guitar) and new member Alex Baum (drums).
