Bill Stewart ft. Smith III and Grenadier

Bill Stewart Trio with Larry Grenadier and Walter Smith III is one of the most exciting trios in jazz and improvised music today.

They have performed weekly over the past few years at the famous New York club Village Vanguard Stewart and Grenadier have a history of playing together as sidemen in well-known bands, such as those of Pat Metheny and John Scofield, and have collaborated with Maceo Parker and many, many more.

Bill Stewart has been one of the most sought-after drummers over the past 35 years.

Larry Grenadier is today one of the most admired and successful bassists in jazz, praised for his "fluid sense of melody" by Bass Player magazine.

Walter Smith III is an inspired young saxophonist and composer. He is or has been a member of several legendary groups, such as Roy Haynes Fountain of Youth Band, Terence Blanchard Quintet and others.

The legendary saxophonist Jimmy Heath said: "Smith is a perfect example of what my mentor Dizzy Gillespie said: 'You have to have one foot in the past and one foot in the future'".
