Newkid – Akust-ish

After years on big stages, with pyrotechnics and productions designed to feel larger than life itself, Newkid is now doing something new: he is coming closer.

On Sunday 14 February, he takes to the Big Stage at Jacy'z.

– “The setup isn’t entirely acoustic, but ish,” says Newkid of the format.

And perhaps that is where the essence lies. A stripped-back stage style without losing the energy or grandeur of the music – a space where the songs can breathe in a new way, and where the audience comes closer to both the music and the person behind it.

With more than 15 years of music behind him, Newkid is now inviting audiences to a more personal encounter. From early hip-hop and R&B influences to the big pop songs that have been streamed more than half a billion times, the music takes on a new form: intimate, vulnerable and honest.

He is also currently promoting the EP Powerballader, released earlier this spring, where he continues to explore powerful emotions, strong melodies and stories about love, doubt and finding your way home.
