Samhällsskadlig

Angående Teater presents its third production! "Samhällsskadlig". The year is 1946. In a big city, Edith, a young literature student, lives alone with her mother. For the past few years, she and Rut, the girl next door, have shared a dark secret.

Homosexuality is considered a mental illness. But there is a home for girls with similar inclinations. The home is run by Mrs Linde, who attempts to convert the girls in her care through inhumane tests and simulated drownings as punishment for giving in to temptation. Lies, war trauma, secrets and desire intertwine, and soon Edith no longer knows who she should try to be. How can loving another person make you so happy, yet at the same time cause you to be seen as unnatural and a menace to society?
