Newkid – Akust-ish

After years on big stages, with pyrotechnics and productions designed to feel larger than life, Newkid is now doing something new: getting closer.

On Saturday 6 March, he takes to Big Stage at Jacy'z.

– "The setup isn't entirely acoustic, but ish," says Newkid himself of the format.

And perhaps that is precisely the essence of it. A stripped-back stage presentation without losing the energy or grandeur of the music – a space where the songs can breathe in a new way, and where the audience gets closer to both the music and the person behind it.

With over 15 years of music behind him, Newkid now invites you to a more personal encounter. From early hip-hop and R&B influences to the big pop songs that have been streamed over half a billion times – the music takes on a new form: intimate, vulnerable and honest.

His EP Powerballader, released earlier this spring, is also out now, continuing his exploration of powerful emotions, strong melodies and stories of love, doubt and finding your way home.
