Jeremy Pinnell is a hardcore troubadour rooted in Southern Gothic country, where songs about hard lives in shady backstreets and shabby honky-tonks are everyday fare.

Raised a stone’s throw from the Ohio River, Jeremy Pinnell grew up with a soundtrack as broad as the Midwestern skies – Merle Haggard, AC/DC, Tom Petty and Concrete Blonde. So, after a few early albums inspired by traditional country, Pinnell teams up with super-producer Shooter Jennings to create a powerful Southern drama filled with everything from ’70s Southern rock to Delta blues and Memphis soul on his latest album, 'Decades'.

Shooter Jennings has a long history of finding his artists’ strengths (Tanya Tucker, Brandi Carlile, Lucas Nelson, Jamie Wyatt) and broadening their traditional sound – on 'Decades', he uses magic and sorcery to coax the best out of Pinnell. There is sensitive folk blues, tender country rock and swaggering glam rock dressed as a cowboy, with echoes of everyone from Steve Earle and T.Rex to Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and Drive-By Truckers – all, magically enough, achieved in songs lasting under 4 minutes.

Backed by a seasoned band, Jeremy Pinnell brings his songs about highways, tough relationships and human stories – described by Rolling Stone as "hardscrabble honky-tonk at its best" – to Scandinavia for the first time this autumn.
