Ola Aurell – Mänsklighetens lyckligaste tid

Mänisklighetens lyckligaste tid Ola Aurell tries to answer the eternal questions: where do we really come from, where on earth are we heading – and might things possibly have been even worse in the past?

This is a comedy concert delving into both anxiety about the future and nostalgia.

After the success of Herr Aurells nästan lämpliga sånger, which played to packed houses across the country, Ola Aurell is back with a brand-new musical comedy show. New songs, new jokes and new madness.

He asks us whether things were better in the past. Is dystopia just around the corner? Were older generations permanently tipsy? Who took the last slice of tiger cake? Will artificial intelligence take our jobs? Was the telephone directory the high point of our civilisation?

The Vasa ship’s short maiden voyage, the mullet and an existential fear of old age sit alongside the comforting certainty that the hip flask will at least survive the collapse of civilisation.

As always, Ola Aurell’s exquisite lyrical craftsmanship is interspersed with tastelessness, cheerful jibes and hidden nerdy obsessions. History, the present day and anxiety about the future all get their well-deserved knocks.

To raise the bar right up to the ceiling, he is bringing the rising stars Sand & Hallander along on the tour. Their retro-sounding backing vocals feature prominently on Ola Aurell’s new album, due out this winter, so having them as his backing band felt like an absolute necessity.
