Sadness

Blackgaze/emo legends Sadness are finally heading out on their first European tour – and of course we’ve made sure they’ll be stopping by to see us in Gothenburg!

Sadness began as a classic bedroom project by Mexican-American multi-instrumentalist Damián Antón Ojeda in 2014, and has become Damián’s best-known and most prolific creative outlet, with around 60 releases (counting full-length albums, EPs and splits). Musically, this is blackgaze/emo of the very highest calibre. The masterpiece I Want to Be There arrived in 2019 and has since become a true milestone in blackgaze. But anyone who delves into the Sadness catalogue will quickly realise that this is only the tip of the iceberg. It wasn’t until 2024, however, that Damián finally put together a live band and started playing shows, and on 14 May 2027 it’s our turn to experience Sadness live! And for those of you who want a taste of what we can expect that evening, we recommend checking out their KEXP session, released in winter 2026.
