Jag är Carola – en musikalisk unik livsberättelse
Carola is coming to Frihamnskyrkan, Gothenburg with Jag är Carola – en musikalisk unik livsberättelse
On 8 September, to coincide with her 60th birthday, Carola Häggkvist released her first book. In her autobiography Jag är Carola, which traces her childhood and her life up to 2002, Carola tells her own story for the first time ever. Following the book’s release, it has now been confirmed that she will also embark on an extensive Nordic tour this autumn to meet her audience.
Together with pianist Will Oaks, Carola will give more than 30 concerts in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, with her debut book taking centre stage. Through music and storytelling, she shares the songs and events that have shaped her, in what she herself describes as an experience that is “intimate and personal, but above all very exclusive”. She will perform songs you might not usually hear at a Carola concert, such as “Krokodilbarnets klagan” and “If I Can Dream” by Elvis Presley, interspersed with her biggest hits such as “Främling”, “Säg mig var du står” and “Fångad av en stormvind”.
For more than four decades, Carola has been one of Sweden’s biggest stars by far. Since her sensational breakthrough with “Främling” in 1983, she has become an integral part of Sweden’s cultural heritage and has lived her life in the public eye. Now she opens the door to a life long portrayed by others – and tells her own story of the person behind the artist in an intimate and exclusive concert experience.
