SUMMARY:Jag är Carola – en musikalisk unik livsberättelse
LOCATION:Frihamnskyrkan\, Frihamnen 14\, 41770 Göteborg
DESCRIPTION:Carola is coming to Frihamnskyrkan\, Gothenburg with Jag är
Carola – en musikalisk unik livsberättelse\n\nOn 8 September\, to coin
cide with her 60th birthday\, Carola Häggkvist released her first book.
In her autobiography Jag är Carola\, which traces her childhood and her
life up to 2002\, Carola tells her own story for the first time ever. Fol
lowing the book’s release\, it has now been confirmed that she will als
o embark on an extensive Nordic tour this autumn to meet her audience.\n\
nTogether with pianist Will Oaks\, Carola will give more than 30 concerts
in Sweden\, Norway\, Finland\, Iceland and the Faroe Islands\, with her
debut book taking centre stage. Through music and storytelling\, she shar
es the songs and events that have shaped her\, in what she herself descri
bes as an experience that is “intimate and personal\, but above all ver
y exclusive”. She will perform songs you might not usually hear at a Ca
rola concert\, such as “Krokodilbarnets klagan” and “If I Can Dream
” by Elvis Presley\, interspersed with her biggest hits such as “Frä
mling”\, “Säg mig var du står” and “Fångad av en stormvind”.
\n\nFor more than four decades\, Carola has been one of Sweden’s bigges
t stars by far. Since her sensational breakthrough with “Främling” i
n 1983\, she has become an integral part of Sweden’s cultural heritage
and has lived her life in the public eye. Now she opens the door to a lif
e long portrayed by others – and tells her own story of the person behi
nd the artist in an intimate and exclusive concert…
