Tomten är far till alla barnen

TOMTEN ÄR FAR TILL ALLA BARNEN Following sold-out performances, audience laughter and acclaim from both critics and audiences during 2024/2025 at Cirkus in Stockholm, the stage hit Tomten är far till alla barnen now returns to selected venues in Sweden.

When the much-loved cult film from 1999 first took to the stage in 2024, a brand-new Swedish Christmas tradition was born.

On stage, audiences witnessed the now-legendary Christmas Eve when Sara invites her three ex-husbands and their new families to her home to celebrate Christmas with her reluctant partner Janne.

What was meant to be an idyllic family celebration quickly descends into explosive chaos as old relationships, secrets and conflicts erupt in front of the Christmas tree.

Director Rikard Bergqvist transformed the film’s cult story into a fast-paced stage production full of physical comedy, musical moments and a first-rate ensemble cast.

Critics described the result as a wildly fast-paced laugh-fest where the audience’s initial hesitation quickly gave way to roaring laughter.

The Stockholm premiere in November 2024 marked the start of a hit with audiences.

The production played to full houses, was praised by the evening papers and continued to grow in popularity during 2025 -- when, among other accolades, it was named "Stage Production of the Year" at Svenska Humorpriset.

This hilariously funny, lovingly chaotic and utterly unpredictable Christmas Eve returns in 2026 with some of Sweden’s best-loved actors.

Meet Liv Mjönäs, Linus Wahlgren, Eva Röse, Jakob Setterberg, Fredrik Hallgren, Clara Henry, Magnus Betnér, Julia Dufvenius, Inez Dahl Torhaug, Anton Lundqvist & Eva Rexed.

Together, they create a Christmas show where doors slam, secrets are revealed and laughter is never far away.

For one thing is certain: no one celebrates Christmas like the family in Tomten är far till alla barnen.
