DESCRIPTION:Name an instrument that symbolises the music of the past cent
 ury more than any other. Did you think of the guitar too? The instrument 
 that\, together with a sawn-off bottleneck\, gave birth to the blues\, ma
 de Elvis the king of rock\, and was electrified to give rise to everythin
 g from punk and symphonic rock to black metal. This concert with Finn Lox
 bo and Francesco Palmieri gives us an opportunity to explore the guitar f
 rom different angles – acoustic versus electric\, through improvisation
  and composed pieces respectively.\n\nFinn Loxbo previously made his name
  as a singer-songwriter\, but now explores the shadowy sides of the steel
 -string guitar in precise\, often quiet improvisations. He is the founder
  of the ensemble Kommun and also plays with Skogen and Anna Högberg Exte
 nded Attack\, among others.\n\nFrancesco Palmieri’s part of the program
 me is devoted to three works in which the electric guitar is confronted w
 ith foreign objects made of metal\, glass and stone. Instead of a traditi
 onal amplifier\, the guitar sounds through a custom-built speaker system 
 designed to bridge the gap between electric and acoustic.
