Musikens Hus Stora Scen, Göteborg
Bombus Weekend – fredag
BOMBUS
A most user friendly band from Gothenburg!
Like Black Sabbath, only better!
BOMBUS on home turf — about as classic as herring and schnapps.
Or Randy Bachman and Fred Turner.
Despite their impressive 18 years in the service of rock, the band have, believe it or not, never played at Musikens Hus. Pretty crazy.
But with Bombus now reaching a seriously cool, rock-credible age, and one of the band's cornerstones, “Repeat Until Death”, turning an impressive 10, putting on a Bombus Weekend at Musikens Hus is a no-brainer!
Rock music — always something to celebrate…
Two days of Bombus!
Two nights with different setlists
Two nights with different special guests
Two nights with (we're guessing) incredible guests.
Incredible!
As an extra bonus, a great-sounding vinyl repress of their self-titled debut is coming soon!
Special guests Friday 20/11:
Mass Worship
Stockholm-based MASS WORSHIP are a metal band whose genre-crossing approach brings a new kind of heaviness and an even blacker darkness to the already prominent Scandinavian metal sound, where both classic and technical death metal meet progressive doom/sludge with a punk attitude. Like the long-lost bastard child of Entombed and Meshuggah, with DNA from Mastodon, Neurosis and Anti-Cimex.
The band officially formed in January 2018, but the members have extensive experience in bands that have spent decades moving from one tour or recording session to the next.
Their latest album, "Portal Tombs" (Century Media), came out in 2022 and saw the band further cement their unique sound, leading to appearances at the likes of Sweden Rock and Gefle Metal. The album made the lists of many well-known metal writers, including Blabbermouth (9/10), New Noise (4/5) and others. Looking back at the music of 2022, it is clear that Mass Worship's unique sound has left a lasting impression on an ever-growing fanbase.
Now the band are hitting the road to deliver their tank-like metal to Scandinavian audiences — prepare to be completely flattened!
Special guests Saturday 21/11:
Troubled Horse
The OG rock heroes of Pennybridge!
Apart from a hometown show in Örebro, the band have been out of the public eye for five years, and have not played in Gothenburg for eight years!
Two incredible records (Step Inside, 2012, and Revolution on Repeat, 2017) have put the band on the map among rock lovers around the world.
The connection to Bombus is more straightforward than you might think: at least one member of Bombus has played in Troubled Horse. So if the planets and stars align, you might just be able to count on a guest appearance or two this evening.
A once-in-a-lifetime experience, wow!
Support both days:
Draconian Descent
Between adventures with Monolord and Långfinger, Kalle Lilja and Esben Willems were getting itchy fingers. There was new rock to be rocked!
Matte Säker (ex-Bombus) and Rickard Höök (New Crises, ex-Acid’s Trip) were called in, and just like that, they were ready to rock!
Draconian Descent was born.
The first single was released in the spring, and an album should be along before you can say hard rock!
