SUMMARY:Little North
LOCATION:Nefertiti\, Hvitfeldtsplatsen 6\, 41120 Göteborg
DESCRIPTION:With their forthcoming album Crossing Currents on the highly
regarded German label ACT Music\, Danish trio Little North take another s
tep on their musical journey. Since 2020\, they have released six albums
and established themselves as a distinctive voice on the European jazz sc
ene.\n\nLittle North work as a collective\, with all members composing an
d drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres and traditions. Their c
uriosity\, both collective and individual\, drives the music forward\, an
d each album explores new musical landscapes.\n\nCrossing Currents was cr
eated in New York in collaboration with vibraphonist Joel Ross and saxoph
onist Hannes Bennich. Here\, Little North’s Nordic sound and poetic pre
cision meet the energy of the international jazz scene\, creating an open
\, contemporary sound in which musical currents from Copenhagen\, New Yor
k and Malmö flow together.\n\nLive\, the music takes on another dimensio
n through the interplay with Dutch guitarist Reinier Baas\, one of Europe
’s most original guitarists\, known for his rhythmic drive and melodic
inventiveness. Together with Bennich\, they shape and reshape the materia
l in the moment\, taking it in new directions from one concert to the nex
t.\n\nFor the audience\, this means a concert experience that cannot be h
eard on record. The music is created in the moment\, through the interact
ion between the musicians\, the room and the audience – building bridge
s between the Nordic and international jazz scenes.\n\nTimes:\n\nDoors op
