 00\n\nOn stage at approx. 20:00\n\nMerit Hemmingson is a composer\, arran
 ger\, organist and singer from Jämtland. She has devoted her life to exp
 loring and shaping her own musical landscape\, bending and challenging ge
 nres in ways that have often made waves. Since the 1960s\, her personal s
 tyle has carved out a unique place in Swedish music history where jazz\, 
 groove rock and\, above all\, folk music meet.\n\nA new album\, “Pekkos
  Per å Jag”\, will be released in autumn 2026\, and Merit will go on t
 our with her band.\n\nPekkos Per (1807-1877) is a legendary figure in Swe
 dish folk music. For Merit Hemmingson\, he is a constant source of inspir
 ation. Hemmingson has now recorded a selection of Pekkos Per’s treasure
 d tunes in a reinterpretation that is as familiar and clear as it is swir
 ling\, inspired and exploratory.\n\n“For me\, Pekkos Per from Bingsjö 
 in Dalarna has always been one of the biggest names in Swedish folk music
 \,” says Merit Hemmingson. “Many of his tunes move between major and 
 minor\, which I find both tricky and exciting.\n\nThe tunes have mostly b
 een played by fiddlers\, but here I want to convey them in a different an
 d unconventional way on my favourite instrument\, the Hammond B3.”\n\nT
