To mark the 20th anniversary of the album “Death by Sexy”, Eagles of Death Metal are embarking on an extensive European tour. On 7 November, the band return to Sweden for a concert at Pustervik in Gothenburg. Tickets go on sale on Friday 27 February at 10.00.

Eagles of Death Metal are an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, founded in 1998 by Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. Over the years, a large number of musicians have played with the band, both on studio albums and at live performances. EODM’s current touring line-up consists of long-standing frontman Hughes, Leah Bluestein on drums, Scott Shiflett on guitar and Dustin Douglas on bass.

Despite their name, Eagles of Death Metal are not a death metal band; the name is intended as a joke. With a sound that combines “bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals” and a frontman in Hughes — known for his over-the-top stage antics and rapport with the audience — the band’s live shows really are something to experience.

EODM have released four studio albums to date, Peace Love Death Metal, Death by Sexy, Heart On and Zipper Down, and have toured extensively around the world over the past two decades. A brand-new studio album is in the works and will soon be ready to see the light of day.

With several extensive tours under their belt over the course of their long career, Eagles of Death Metal have built a reputation as one of the rock scene’s most intense and entertaining live bands. Twenty years after the release of the now-iconic Death by Sexy, the band are hitting the road again to celebrate, together with their fans, the album’s — and the band’s — undisputed place in modern rock history.

On 7 November, the band come to Sweden for a concert at Pustervik in Gothenburg, where they will perform “Death by Sexy” in its entirety, along with their biggest hits and a few surprises.
