\n\nOn stage: approx. 22.30\n\nAlthough the five members of British band
Ulrika Spacek come from different backgrounds and perspectives\, they for
m a tightly interwoven artistic unit as a band. The group is now geograph
ically dispersed\, with multi-instrumentalist and singer Rhys Edwards bas
ed in Stockholm\, while Syd Kemp runs Total Refreshment Studio (Thurston
Moore\, Spiritulized\, Kikagaku Moyo) in east London. Despite their widel
y differing backgrounds beyond performing music (experimental physics\, g
raphic design\, music production\, etc.)\, it is their collective musical
vision that brings them together in a dreamlike world of off-kilter melo
dies\, scuffed guitars and floating atmospheres.\n\nRooted in challenging
art rock\, neo-psychedelia and experimental indie rock\, the group's lat
est album\, the already critically acclaimed 'EXPO'\, takes its starting
point in the borderland between analogue warmth and humanity and electron
ic coldness and isolation. As boldly inviting as it is deeply alienating\
, it is in many ways much like the world around us today.
