SUMMARY:Cochemea
LOCATION:Nefertiti\, Hvitfeldtsplatsen 6\, 41120 Göteborg
DESCRIPTION:Multi-instrumentalist and composer Cochemea Gastelum has musi
c in his DNA. With over 25 years on the international scene\, he has coll
aborated with names such as Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings\, Amy Winehouse\
, The Roots and Quincy Jones.\n\nHis latest album\, Vol. 3: Ancestros Fut
uros on Daptone Records\, weaves past\, present and future into an evocat
ive whole. Together with a hand-picked band from New York’s funk elite\
, Cochemea creates an organic\, rhythmic and deeply personal sound\, reco
rded live using analogue technology.\n\nHis music moves between spiritual
jazz\, funk and ritual soundscapes in which dreams\, memory and origins
play a central role. Rooted in the Yaqui tradition\, he explores themes o
f heritage\, survival and belonging\, creating sonic worlds that feel bot
h ancient and forward-looking.\n\nLive\, Cochemea delivers an intense and
