Jakob Hellman

For over 30 years, fans had to wait. But in 2021 Jakob Hellman released his second album, “Äntligen borta”. In autumn 2025, he released his third album and is also setting off on a major tour.

He came out of nowhere and changed everything. At least, if by “nowhere” you mean the small northern Swedish village of Vuollerim, and by “everything” you mean the direction of Swedish-language pop music. Jakob Hellman burst onto the scene in 1989 when his debut album “… och stora havet” was released. Songs such as “Vara vänner” and “Hon har ett sätt” introduced a new way of writing songs in Swedish, with their word-rich lyrics and an expression made up of equal parts naivety and melancholy.
