The Scottish rock band Big Country returns to Pustervik! Joining them as special guests this evening are none other than Evan Peters Presents The Alarm.
With an impressive catalogue of proud, grand and infectious hits such as “Fields of Fire”, “Chance”, “In a Big Country”, “East of Eden” and, not least, the huge hit “Look Away”, Bruce Watson and his Big Country continue to make new music, and in September their new album “Eastworld” was released. The album consists of completely new recordings of songs that had previously existed only as demos or sketches and had never received the care they deserved. Together with Scott Rowley’s acclaimed book about founder Stuart Adamson’s life, “Stay Alive”, and an upcoming documentary, the spotlight is once again on the band and its legacy.
With their powerful and distinctive sound, where the energy of rock meets melodic guitar lines with clear influences from Scottish and Celtic musical traditions, Big Country have created a sound that continues to unite generations of rock fans. Guitarist Bruce Watson was one of the founders of the legendary Scottish rock band Big Country, alongside guitarist, singer and songwriter Stuart Adamson. Together with bassist Tony Butler and drummer Mark Brzezicki, they created the classic debut album The Crossing in 1983. The album sold over two million copies and earned the band three Grammy nominations in the USA. Its follow-up, Steeltown, went straight to number one on the UK album chart. Big Country had a total of 17 singles in the UK Top 30 and released several gold- and platinum-certified albums. The band also toured with some of the biggest names in rock history, including Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones. Mick Jagger described them as “one of the best support acts we’ve ever had”.
Since Stuart Adamson’s tragic death, members have come and gone from Big Country over the years. Bruce Watson continues to keep his friend’s legacy and memory alive, with the music they made together at its heart.
This evening’s special guests are Evan Peters Presents The Alarm. Evan Peters is the son of Mike Peters, who, as well as being the frontman of The Alarm, was also a singer in Big Country from 2011 to 2013. Mike Peters died in 2025, and Evan’s show is a tribute to his life and musical legacy.
An evening filled with classic British rock, big melodies and music that lives on.
