The Abyss Festival proudly invites you to an evening with The Obsessed — bringing their legendary blend of crushing doom, raw blues, psychedelic haze, and dirty, riffs to the stage.

Prepare for a night of massive guitars, thunderous grooves, and pure underground energy - and above all LOUD!

In addition we have very special guest: our very own legends from Gothenburg Stillborn.

STILLBORN

Stillborn is a pioneering gothic/doom metal band formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1984. Initially emerging under the name Cranium, the band quickly evolved to become a foundational fixture in the Swedish underground metal scene. They are widely recognized for blending heavy, monolithic doom riffs with a dark, melancholic gothic atmosphere.

Opening act - KLASTOS

From Östergötland comes Klastos — a Swedish wrecking machine built from sludge, doom-soaked riffs, stoner grooves, and raw punk aggression.

THE OBSESSED

The Obsessed was one of the early Black Sabbath-influenced doom metal bands on the American continent. They formed in 1976 under the name Warhorse, but by 1980, they had changed their name to The Obsessed. The band had gone on hiatus before releasing several albums and breaking up in 1995.

Reunited in 2012, initially to play at the Roadburn Festival. The band did another reunion show at Maryland Deathfest XI in May 2013.

In 2016, an update from Scott "Wino" Weinrich was posted on Facebook that stated that the current members of Spirit Caravan would become the new lineup of The Obsessed. The band plays both Spirit Caravan and The Obsessed material, but they now go by the latter.
