Backengrillen

KRAVALL – GOTHENBURG'S NEW PUNK CLUB LAUNCHES WITH BACKENGRILLEN Gothenburg is getting a new punk club.

Kravall kicks off at Trädgår'n Studio Live on Saturday 14 November, and the opening night hits hard: Backengrillen, the new line-up featuring members of Refused, Fire!, TEXT and The International Noise Conspiracy.

Backengrillen are Dennis Lyxzén (vocals and effects), Mats Gustafsson (saxophones, flutes and live electronics), Magnus Flagge (bass) and David Sandström (drums and electronics). All members hail from Umeå, with roots in hardcore, punk, noise and free jazz. The result is anti-fascist, anti-racist free-form death-jazz dedicated to the memory of Lars Lystedt, drawing inspiration from The Cramps, Little Richard, Albert Ayler, Entombed, John Zorn, Misfits, Stooges and Can.

Their self-titled debut album came out in January on Svart Records, and the band have since played Roadburn Festival in Tilburg. In November, Backengrillen tour Sweden with stops in Umeå, Norrköping and Malmö before the evening at Trädgår'n.

"We really hope this slab of stupid, violent death rock will ruin someone's day. Haha." – David Sandström

Kravall is presented by CMG, Revival and Trädgår'n.
