Swedish-American Smash Atoms are Gothenburg’s own answer to grunge-era heroes such as Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots. Motorfinger blends the raw energy of grunge with the weight of hard rock and alternative metal – heavy, melodic and uncompromising. They hail from Oslo, Norway.

Rooted in the alternative rock of the ’90s, the band has developed a sound that feels both familiar and distinctly modern. Massive guitars, heavy grooves and strong melodies meet vocals that can shift from dark and vulnerable to explosive in an instant. There are echoes of Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Stone Temple Pilots, along with the dirty drive of Queens of the Stone Age. The band takes the energy and intensity of an era they love and turns it into something of their own – songs built to be played loud, delivered through a live show driven by dynamics, intensity and raw power.

Over the years, Motorfinger has shared the stage with bands such as D-A-D, Ugly Kid Joe, Truckfighters and Black Debbath to name a few, and has performed both in Norway and internationally.

Motorfinger is heavy without losing the melody, melodic without losing its edge – and at its best when the volume is cranked all the way up.

MWW BAND (Mikael Willy Wilhelmsson Band) (NO)

MWW Band have released the EP “Songs From Bleeding Bones” – a dark, personal and emotionally charged release, strongly inspired by Soundgarden’s songwriting and atmosphere. The EP features the three singles “Fever From Broken Bones”, “The Shepherd Song” and “Bleeding Sky Machine”.

The title “The Shepherd Song” is a tribute to Soundgarden’s bassist and songwriter Ben Shepherd, whose approach to writing music – together with the rest of the band – has been a major inspiration for the sound and mood of the entire EP.

The lyrics on “Songs From Bleeding Bones” explore losing your identity, breaking down mentally and emotionally, and then trying to rebuild yourself. This is the most personal material MWW Band have released to date.

The inspiration for “Fever From Broken Bones” came after Mikael listened to Soundgarden’s classic “Fell on Black Days” again.

– It really struck me, especially the way Chris Cornell holds back his vocals through almost the entire song. I tried to do the same, but it was much harder than I thought because I’m used to singing with more force. Even so, the result was something I’m incredibly proud of. The lyrics are among the most personal I’ve ever written, says Mikael.

What began as a purely solo project under his own name has now grown into a full band: MWW Band.

The band consists of:

Mikael Willy Wilhelmsson – vocals, guitar

Benjamin Bauer – lead guitar

Asle Jacobsen – bass

Trond Lund – drums

Mikael Willy Wilhelmsson has been the singer and guitarist in the Swedish band Aggressive Chill for over twenty years and, for the past six years, has also been the frontman of the Norwegian metal band Infidus, who released their debut album “Endless Greed” in 2022.
