Across the River – The Songs of Bruce Springsteen
An intimate evening of songs, words and stories from one of the greatest songwriters of our time.
After tickets for the first Gothenburg performance on 10 October sold out quickly, an extra performance of Across the River – The Songs of Bruce Springsteen has now been added at Kaffe Kid.
On 17 October, singer-songwriter Martin Lönegren returns with his intimate Springsteen show in two acts, interpreting Bruce Springsteen's music in its most stripped-back form – with vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica.
The songs take centre stage here. From some of Springsteen's best-loved classics, such as Thunder Road, The River, Born to Run and I'm on Fire, to the darker, more understated songs about love, longing, loss, work and the dream of a different life.
Between songs, Martin weaves in stories and context from Springsteen's long career, but above all, Across the River is a concert – a chance to experience the music up close, stripped back to what was there at the beginning: a song, a story and a guitar.
Martin Lönegren is a Swedish singer-songwriter with roots in Americana, country and the singer-songwriter tradition, and has performed nearly 200 concerts across Sweden in recent years.
During the autumn and winter, Across the River heads out on tour, with stops including Malmö, Höganäs, Oskarshamn, Västervik, Mariefred, Norrköping and Ljungsbro.
This additional Gothenburg performance will also take place at Kaffe Kid, in a small, intimate setting where the audience can get close to both the music and the stories.
